A small team with deep operational experience, supported by advisors who have built businesses and shaped intelligence practice at the highest level.
Cole founded ALCON Intelligence in 2022 after 15 years in the New Zealand Defence Force, serving across multiple intelligence streams in military and civilian roles, culminating in operational intelligence and intelligence leadership positions.
What began as an open-source project to help people stay ahead of global hot spots developed into a company, built in response to a clear gap in real-world, present-day intelligence analysis training that organisations could trust. Cole leads the design and delivery of every ALCON programme, including the IACC and MIOC, and directs the company's training and advisory work.
Colin brings more than 30 years of experience building and leading digital and technology businesses in New Zealand. He founded Spitfire and grew it through to a successful sale, led The Digital Agency for 14 years, and earlier helped establish some of the country's first digital and new media capability, including delivery for Philips across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa.
Colin advises on strategy, growth, and the long-term direction of the company, bringing the perspective of someone who has built, scaled, and sold businesses across three decades.
Ricky brings current intelligence experience and a detailed understanding of the modern operating environment. Much intelligence training still teaches methods designed for an environment that no longer exists; ALCON's standard is that everything we teach must be fit for the environment analysts work in today.
Ricky reviews ALCON's learning outcomes and programme structures and holds every course to that standard. His standing across the intelligence community underpins the independence of the role.
